No!
This is not yet another modern version of "Tofu
style Tai Chi" which offers neither "power" nor
vitality. Our style, the Classical Yang Family Tai
Chi Chuan, Medium Frame/Tiger Form, is taught
& practiced according to the teachings of
Master Chu, Gin-Soon of Boston & the late
Grandmaster Yang, Sau-Chung -- the eldest son of
the world famous Yang, Cheng-Fu.
We
do not teach the power, energy, & fighting
principles of Chen style, Xingyi, Shaolin, western
boxing, Karate, etc.; nor do we teach the
water-downed versions that are created by the
dubiously unqualified people.
The
principles "internal power" of the authentic Tai
Chi Chuan are unique. So unique is its internal
power that the authentic Tai Chi Chuan does not
need any help from other styles, whatsoever. As
for the martial art applications, the authentic
Tai Chi Chuan has its own unique system of
defensive & offensive techniques based upon
the principles of internal power (Peng Jing). In
fact, combining with other styles -- whether it be
western boxing body mechanics, Shaolin white crane
shaking strikes, Chen style's waist snapping
movement; Yichuan's standing meditation, or
Aikido's unbendable arm -- absolutely prevents the
practitioners from understanding the internal
principles of the authentic Tai Chi Chuan.
Therefore, there is no need for importing other
martial arts' principles unless there is lack of
understanding.
To
understand the authentic Tai Chi Chuan, one must
truly understand the principles of "Steel Wrapped
in Cotton", "Borrowing Energy", "Stillness in
Motion", etc. Moreover, the understanding of these
principles is derived by the profound method of
"Dynamic/Power pushing hands". Without these
principles, whatever he/she is doing CANNOT be the
authentic Tai Chi Chuan. It is merely imitation,
at best, & not the famous & powerful
authentic Tai Chi Chuan of Yang, Lu-Chan & his
family.

Not
many people know about Grandmaster Yang,
Sau-Chung. As a teenager, he took over the
teaching responsibility of his father. Moreover,
he has taught many students who later attained
world renown by attaching themselves to Yang,
Cheng-Fu's name. CMC & many others were, in
truth, mediocre students of Grandmaster Yang,
Sau-Chung. The true lineage holders under
Grandmaster Yang, Sau-Chung are his three
disciples: Master Yip, Tai-Tak (Hong Kong); Master
Chu, Gin-Soon (Boston, MA, USA); Master Chu,
King-Hong (Europe).
Master
Gin-Soon Chu, who is the current 5th generation
lineage (the only legitimate candidate for the 5th
generation Gatekeeper) & the second disciple
of Grandmaster Yang, Sau-Chung, started to teach
& propagate the knowledge of the Classical
Yang Family Tai Chi Chuan throughout North America
in 1969. Since then, he has been teaching
authentic Tai Chi Chuan in Boston, MA.
Sifu
H. Won Gim, who is the second disciple of
Grandmaster Gin-Soon Chu, has been studing the
Classical Yang Family Tai Chi Chuan since 1982.
With Master Chu's permission, Sifu Gim teaches the
only authorized Classical Yang Family Tai Chi
Chuan in NYC*, since 1997.

*As of October
of 1997, H. Won Tai Chi
Chuan Association is
the only authorized Classical Yang
Family Tai Chi Chuan, granted by Gin Soon Tai
Chi Chuan Federation USA,
in New York City.
