Free Sparring

Tai Chi Chuan sparring, or "chi sau", is where practitioners begin to learn how to apply the techniques that they have learned through the long form, the fast form, san sau, the dynamic pushing hands, etc. At this stage, the practitioners don't have to practice on any specific techniques. All actions & reactions are based on the opponent's movements. As a result, the practitioners develop the ability to listen, yield, & attack with greater speed & control. Therefore, sticking hands is an exercise to train offensive & defensive techniques.
